What is RPA?

RPA or Robotic Process Automation, you might have heard of it but what is it, why should you care and what can it do for you?

In very simple terms, RPA does the boring work.

A computer is programmed to do a given task that was previously done by a human. Imagine a task that you or an employee needs to execute frequently on a computer like accounting tasks, copy-and-paste work, generating reports, processing data between different software, RPA can automate these and do them for you, thereby avoiding mistakes and freeing up time.

But why should you care?

Well you probably have some problems at your company, some pain points and it does not look like it’s going to get better anytime soon. Maybe the employees are overloaded with work causing them to make errors while the pile of work only increases. Maybe you’ve got ideas to improve whatever your are doing but don’t have the manpower to try it. Or maybe you’re not aware of all the valuable time that is wasted on tasks that could be automated. And while you are struggling and still doing things manually, your competitors might have already automated a lot of tasks and thereby doing more work with the same amount of employees.

Ok, fine but what does this actually mean for you?

With RPA you will:

  • Reduce employee stress
  • Reduce costly errors and mistakes
  • Increase employee morale
  • Increase employee productivity
  • Save money (from tens of thousands to millions a year)

You probably agree by now that you need to get started with automation, but how? There are a lot of great companies out there that can help you.
